Newton Street (Manchester) Telephone Office |
Who does it |
· The telephones are manned for 12 hours daily (11am to 11pm) by volunteers who typically work for one 4 hour shift each week. · The service is managed by a committee nominated by the three local Intergroups; Manchester, East Cheshire & East Lancashire. · The service is funded primarily by the three Intergroups, though some individual groups also provide donations. |
· Primarily volunteers - both to man the telephones on a regular basis, and to act as 12th step responders locally. AA members who have a minimum of 12 months sobriety and the backing of their Home Group are welcome to apply by calling the office on 0161 236 6569. · Money - whilst all the staff are volunteers there are overheads of about £1,000/month to be paid. Please remember this when you are contributing to the “Pot”. |
