The Meetings List

The meetings list has been published on Google Maps to assist members of AA to find local meetings. Because there is a limit to the number of locations that may be accommodated on any one Google Map page it has been necessary to spread the list across two pages. To obtain a comprehensive view of the complete list you may find it advantageous to open both pages in your browser at the same time. The first page may be opened by “right clicking” on this link and clicking on “Open in New Window”, or “Open in New Tab” if you are using Internet Explorer version 7 or Firebird. Using this link will open the second page.

Details of the meeting are listed in alphabetical order at the side of the map, but please note that Google Maps do not currently have the facility to sort this list. Any new meetings will be added to the end of the list on the second page, regardless of their alphabetic priority, so please check. Clicking on the list will bring up details of the meeting on the map, as will clicking on the appropriate placemarker.

The colour of the placemarker indicates the Intergroup to which the Group belongs.

The map may be viewed at any scale by zooming in or out, and an aerial photograph view may be obtained by clicking the “Satellite” button. Directions to a meeting may be obtained by clicking on the “Get directions” link under the Search bar.

The initial location of the meetings has been achieved by using Postcodes, and fine-tuning them using the aerial view. If you think that the location of your Home Group is inaccurate, please contact us using this feedback link, giving us a telephone number as well as your e-mail address and we shall make the appropriate corrections.

The “traditional” Manchester Meetings List will shortly be available as a .pdf file here, and may be downloaded and printed as required.

Please advise any changes to meeting details to the Telephone Office (0161 236 6569) or by e-mail to aanewtonstreet@gmail.com. Please include details of place and time, plus any other information you want included. These should include Postcode (necessary for preparing the map, and useful for SatNav etc.), Intergroup affiliation, and a contact name and telephone number in case we should have any queries.

Remember that any changes in meeting details, including the opening of new meetings and the closure of meetings should also be advised to GSO using the “Pink Form”, or by using the on-line facility at the AA website www.alcoholics-anonymous.org.uk (see the Links page for more details).

It is the responsibility of Groups to ensure that the information on these lists is correct and up-to-date — please check your Group details and inform Newton Street (and GSO) of any changes required.
